Your Baby This Week
The neural tube (which becomes the brain and spinal cord) is forming. The heart begins to beat, though it is too small to hear yet. Arm and leg buds are starting to appear.
Your Body This Week
Morning sickness may begin. Fatigue, sore breasts, and frequent urination are common. You may feel more emotional than usual.
Good to Do Now
Eat small, frequent meals to manage nausea. Ginger tea and crackers before getting out of bed can help. Rest when you can.
The Tools for This Week
Weeks like this are when care teams begin. Whether you want an OB-GYN, a midwife, or both, the good ones book early.
