Your Baby This Week

All five senses are now functioning. Your baby can track light, respond to sound, taste amniotic fluid, and feel touch. Brain connections are forming at a rapid rate. The lungs and digestive tract are nearly mature.

Your Body This Week

You may feel breathless when climbing stairs. Leaking colostrum from your breasts is possible. Frequent urination, pelvic pressure, and difficulty sleeping.

Good to Do Now

If you plan to breastfeed, consider taking a breastfeeding class. Install the car seat. It is not too early to practice.

Line up your after care now: a lactation consultant and a postpartum doula are the two calls new parents are gladdest they made early.
