Week 3 of 40

Conception

This week your baby is about the size of

Poppy seed

Your Baby This Week

The fertilized egg travels down the fallopian tube and begins implanting in the uterine wall. The ball of cells (blastocyst) is dividing into what will become the embryo and the placenta.

Your Body This Week

Most women do not feel anything yet. Some may notice very light spotting (implantation bleeding) or mild cramping.

Good to Do Now

Continue your prenatal vitamins. Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and any medications not approved by your doctor.

Weeks like this are when care teams begin. Whether you want an OB-GYN, a midwife, or both, the good ones book early.
