Your Baby This Week

This is considered the viability milestone. With intensive medical care, babies born now have a chance of survival. The inner ear is fully developed, giving your baby a sense of balance and the ability to tell if they are upside down.

Your Body This Week

You may be tested for gestational diabetes (glucose screening) around now. Skin may be itchy as it stretches. Feet may grow half a size.

Good to Do Now

Take the glucose screening test your provider recommends. Start doing pelvic floor exercises (Kegels) daily to prepare for birth and recovery.

The second trimester is prime time to meet birth doulas. Interview two or three while calendars are still open.
