Your Baby This Week

Your baby's ears have reached their final position and are standing out from the head. They are beginning to hear sounds: your heartbeat, blood flow, and even your voice. Myelin is coating the nerves.

Your Body This Week

You might feel dizzy when standing up quickly due to cardiovascular changes. Leg cramps, especially at night, can begin. Your belly is clearly showing.

Good to Do Now

Talk and sing to your baby. They can hear you now. Your mid-pregnancy ultrasound (anatomy scan) usually happens between weeks 18 and 22.

The second trimester is prime time to meet birth doulas. Interview two or three while calendars are still open.
