Your Baby This Week

Fingers and toes are forming (still webbed). The upper lip and nose have formed. The embryo is starting to move, though you cannot feel it yet. Eyelids are forming over the eyes.

Your Body This Week

Nausea may peak around now. You might have constipation, heartburn, or a metallic taste in your mouth. Clothes may start feeling snug around the waist.

Good to Do Now

Your first prenatal visit usually happens between weeks 8 and 12. Expect blood tests, a urine test, and possibly your first ultrasound.

Weeks like this are when care teams begin. Whether you want an OB-GYN, a midwife, or both, the good ones book early.
